Jessica Lange, Sam Neill take 'Vow'
Oct. 14, 2010 (Variety) -
Jessica Lange and Sam Neill are taking "The Vow," joining the cast of Screen Gems/Spyglass Entertainment romancer alongside Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum. Screen Gems and Spyglass are co-financing and distributing "The Vow," directed by Michael Sucsy ("Grey Gardens"), in the first collaboration between the companies.
Spyglass toppers Roger Birnbaum and Gary Barber and prexy Jonathan Glickman are producing along with Paul Taublieb; Austin Hearst and Susan Cooper exec produces, and Cassidy Lange is co-producing.
"The Vow" centers on a young woman who loses all recent memory in a car accident and struggles to rebuild her identity, while her husband tries to win her heart for the second time.
Project's based on a true story about Kim and Krickitt Carpenter. Their car was hit from behind by a truck in 1993, two months after their marriage. Clint Culpepper and Scott Strauss are overseeing for Screen Gems. Lange and Neill are repped by WME.

Jessica Lange to star in "The Big Valley"
May 19, 2010 (Variety) - Jessica Lange will star in a feature version of "The Big Valley" as the matriarch of a wealthy ranching family in the 1870s.
Pic, based on the 1960s Western TV series that starred Barbara Stanwyck, is set to start shooting on July 19 in Baton Rouge, La.
"The Big Valley" will be directed by Daniel Adams from his own screenplay, inspired by the original pilot from the ABC TV series.
Straw Weisman and Steven Brandman are producing; Kate Edelman Johnson, whose late father Louis F. Edelman created the series, exec produces. Arclight Films is handling foreign rights sales.
Lange most recently won an Emmy Award for her performance as Edith Bouvier in HBO's "Grey Gardens."

Lange in talks for Biblical film
Aloe Entertainment has put together its New Testament ensemble for "Mary, Mother of Christ."Camilla Belle ("10,000 BC") will star as the titular character and will be joined by Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the dual roles of Gabriel and Lucifer and Peter O'Toole as Symeon.
Al Pacino and Jessica Lange are in talks to play Herod and Anna the Prophetess. Mary Aloe is producing along with Dune Films ("Hidalgo," "Prince of Persia"). Argentine helmer Alejandro Agresti ("Valentin," "The Lake House") is directing the film, which begins lensing in Morocco in May.
MGM plans to release the film wide in 2,000-plus theaters April 2, 2010, which coincides with Good Friday. Media 8 Entertainment will handle international sales and distribution for the film and will introduce the project at the European Film Market in Berlin. Mike Dolan is exec producing.
