Trailer
Big Fish is, at heart, the tale of a dying father reconnecting with his estranged son. But it is the father's bigger-than-life tales of his childhood, loves and career, that are the highlight of the film. Tim Burton's trademark style of fantastical characters and sets are very much in evidence here - showcased in a Forrest Gump type tale.
Acting wise, the film is a showcase for veteran actor Albert Finney. Jessica Lange plays the role of Sandy, Finney's wife, and her role is very minimal but she does what she can with her brief moments and she and Finney share a particularly poignant scene in a bathtub. Allison Lohman plays Lange's character as a young girl and her resemble to Jessica is amazing. Lange accepted the role mainly as a chance to work with director Burton.

Critical Sampling:
"Lange manages to infuse her small role with great feeling, but she, Lohman and Marion Cotillard, as Will's pregnant French wife, don't get to do much except be gorgeous and supportive." - BoxOffice "Lange pierces the heart as Sandra climbs in the tub with Edward to offer comfort and forgiveness." - Peter Travers, Rolling Stone Back to Film & Television |
